PCC Enhanced Process Monitor Routine (EPMR) Page i INTRODUCTION The Enhanced Process Monitor Routine was developed by Douglas Bube of Professional Computer Consultants in order to extend the capabilities of the standard 1180 Micro Process Monitor Routine and make the package more useful for the control engineer. The package is implimented in an 1180M system by the addition of the separate image PMRPLT, and totally replaces the standard PMR programs that are a part of every system. The functionality of the standard PMR package is maintained however; i.e., all of the entry procedures that apply to the standard PMR can still be used with the new enhanced PMR package, and it will perform in the same way as it did before. This allows a person who is unfamiliar with the enhanced package to use all existing procedures in the 1180M Service Manual and still achieve the desired results. Due to the fact that certain features of the enhanced PMR package may already be configured, such as the plot graph or automatic printing, a person using the standard procedures may get more than they requested, however. The printed output of the Enhanced Process Monitor Routine can be configured to be a numeric and/or a graphic plot that is printed using a different character for each of the 20 possible PMR variables. The numeric output can be exported to a spreadsheet program; the graphic plot can be analyzed directly and has the distinct advantage of having as many of the 20 variables simultaneously displayed as the control engineer desires. The higher resolution of this plot allows the engineer to make accurate control timing and coordination corrections to the paper machine model.
